8.9.22- The Kiwanis Club of Acadiana donated 55 backpacks with school supplies valued at over $1200 to the New Vision Leadership Foundation of Acadiana.

4.14.22- Tina and Dawn from Backyard Sapphire talked to the club about recycling glass. They will do curbside pickup of glass for $10-$20 a month and recycle it into mulch and sand that they sell. Website is www.backyardsapphire.com for more info.

3.10.22-Erica Williams and Ella Arsement from the New Vision Leadership Foundation. Erica was so passionate about helping kids and exposing them to new experiences it was infectious. 3.3.22- Allison Brandon talked to the club about Wonderland Performing Arts and the Looking Glass Theatre Company.

2.24.22- Rusty Ruckstuhl spoke to the club about the history of Kiwanis of Acadiana.

12.2.21- Dr. Courmier with the Covid-19 Task Force talked to the club about the importance of vaccines and the effects of Covid on Acadiana.

11.11.21- Ashley Moran spoke about the Acadiana Regional Transportation Safety Coalition.

10.12.21- Pictured are David Raymond, Byron, Cuedette Smith, and Rhonda attending the impromptu UL social scheduled by John Claude. Other Kiwanians who attending the social were Carol McManus, Fritzie Fine, Melinda Koon, Brady Mouton, Jonathan, and JC.

10.02.21- Service Project in LaPlace, Louisiana. Rick, Kim, Bruce, Chris, David Raymond, David Romero, Melinda and Anissa volunteered to deliver our hurricane relief supplies from the money we collected over the last few weeks and to help prep meals that the Cortana and Dawnbuster Clubs that were cooking.  Special thanks to Bruce and Jane Sawvel who bought supplies with our donations.

09.09.21 – Tait Martin with Wildcat Brothers Distilling told the club abut their products and future plans to open their distillery to tours.

08.19.21 – KOA members heard from Christie Howard, Community Engagement Director with Big Brothers/Big Sisters. Christie spoke about the value of connections between bigs and littles and their upcoming fundraiser, Wine, Women and Shoes.

08.12.21 – “Maytag” with Bikers Against Child Abuse, spoke to the Club about his organization and its efforts to prevent Child Abuse.
